Let's see - Evan Almighty - crap almighty, but it was something to do to relax while unwinding before flying home. Knocked Up was still great the 2nd time even with the stupid mom not being able to control her toddler (yep - someone brought a toddler to that movie). Rush Hour 3 was passable comedy if you don't focus on how there was no coherent plot at all - but Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are funny together.

I don't know what was new, but the old movies in out of the way towns in the western US just weren't that good of choices save bargain cinema and getting out of the extreme desert heat.

Have a friend who grew up in an old historic mansion. Because of its status, the house didn't have central air-conditioning or even window units. Therefore, the family spent most of their summers at the mall or the movies, simply to get outta the heat. I thought I read somewhere that movie theaters were among the first buidlings to install AC back in the day. Obvious reasons. Who'd wanna sweat through "Battlefield Earth" or "Snowboard Academy 2"?

Who would want to do snowboard academy 1?

been watching heroes on dvd. even with being completely braindead after 12 hour days, it's pretty amusing.

that said, i'm waiting for next weekend with into the wild (movie of the year).
